Plugin Update: Renderers
V-Ray v1.5 Service Pack 3 from Chaos Group.
Changes for SP3 are:
- Adds linear workflow
- Adds mesh-based lights
- Adds V-Ray light material as direct light
- Adds V-Ray Fog environmental effect
- Adds vector displacement
- You can now import proxies as meshes
- Adds support for Max Arch & Design materials
- Adds region rendering directly in the VFB
- Improved irradiance map to further reduce flicker in animations
- Camera Overrides now work with Physical Cam
- MultiMatte, VRayExtraTex and VRayZDepth render elements now work with transparency
- DR now supports the incremental modes of the irradiance map
- Adds V-Ray Fast SSS2, a new SSS material for better and faster rendering
V-Ray is available for Max 6 to 2009 and costs $999. The upgrade is free of charge for all current V-Ray customers. A demo version is available here.
