Joe Alter LipService w/LBrush v.3.0.28 for 3Ds Max 2010
Overview
LipService is a powerful multi-resolution subdivision surface sculpting and animation system built into a single 3DSMax object modifier.
LipService's sculpting tools are comparable to ZBrush** and Mudbox*. Its animation tools extend this multi-resultion editing philosophy through to motion.
LipService makes facial animation fast, simple, and gives the artist full WSIWYG control over the whole process.
LipService w/LBrush was designed to be a fast and effective tool for creating facial animation and target sculpts. The animation and sculpting tools are integrated into a single deformer for fast and effective workflow, though shapes can also be imported/exported to other tools within Max.
It's a very powerful brush sculpting tool, even if you don't use the animation tools - and a very powerful animation tool, even if you don't use the brush tools.
This is not a morph tool, it will require much fewer targets to create smooth animation, and will not need ease-ins or ease out graphs, this vastly simplifies the process of animation because the animation will always hit the targets without sacrificing smoothness of interpolation.
By default, there are 18 basic pre-labeled standard targets however you can add as many of your own as you feel is necessary. Target animations can be created quickly and and easily using a few mouse clicks - just move around on the timeline and lay down targets as you listen to audio..
"Performance Groups" allow you to capture motion using your mouse as a puppeteering device - they are also useful as an aid to modeling.
LipService allows creation of multi-track animation which is summed together geometrically (not parametrically). You can add as many refining tracks as you like without having to cluster off or protect one part of the model from the animation of another.
