Autodesk Lustre 2008 for Windows
The Autodesk® Lustre® color-grading system is the premier high-performance solution for interactive film or HDTV grading and look creation. Production-proven, Lustre has been used to grade hundreds of movies worldwide. It provides high-quality, real-time color-grading capabilities for today’s data-centric workflows. Designed to combine the best in performance and creative tools with advanced configurability, Lustre can be adapted to the most demanding facility workflows.
Autodesk Incinerator software uses the latest in high-performance computing cluster technology to significantly increase the real-time performance and interactivity of Lustre systems during digital grading sessions. Based on industry-standard components, Incinerator provides facilities with better long-term cost and performance benefits, superior upgradeability, and greater modularity and scalability.
The Autodesk Lustre software architecture with GPU acceleration gives you the tools you need to build a look that establishes your unique vision or sells your client’s ideas with maximum impact. Enhance your content with vivid color. Shape the audience experience using complex selections to isolate parts of the shot you need to draw out and highlight. Develop a streamlined facility workflow that lets you work fast—even under pressure.
Compare multiple shots anywhere in your sequence to enjoy continuity of color and lighting across your entire timeline. Jump between shots quickly and see them side by side in different contexts. With a nonlinear workflow and fast, high-quality image processing pipeline, you have time to do more by experimenting with as many grades and variations as you like.
Autodesk Lustre is available in different configurations to meet your performance requirements.
* Lustre takes advantage of the NVIDIA® graphical processing unit (GPU) to accelerate an unprecedented number of SD, HD, or 2K grading and deliverables functions. Offering a very attractive price-to-performance balance, Lustre is designed for creativity and interactivity without the need for proprietary hardware.
* For even greater real-time 2K interactivity during digital grading sessions, Autodesk Incinerator offers an unmatched combination of scalability and performance without the need for proprietary hardware.
Take advantage of the flexibility of the Autodesk Lustre system to build open and scalable collaborative color grading workgroups. Save time with the Autodesk® Wiretap™ advanced API providing access to media stored on Autodesk® Stone® disk arrays. This concurrent workflow lets you color grade an Autodesk® Smoke® software timeline without duplicating media or transferring media across the network.
Make your projects better than real with Autodesk® Lustre® software, the premier creative color-grading application with the tools, performance, and workflow specifically designed to take on the short-form and long-form projects faced by colorists every day.
Creative Toolset
Explore creative options and create looks previously impossible in film and television with the innovative Lustre creative toolset.
* Primary and secondary grading—Modify primary grade before or after secondary correction. Create up to 12 secondary layers, based on shapes or keys, with independent inside/outside settings.
* Freehand shapes and geometries—Ultimate creative shape system capable of extremely precise looks using animatable free-form shapes or geometries.
* Hierarchical shape system—Simplify animation of multiple shapes with powerful tree-based parent-child system.
* Advanced GMasks—Create variable-edged softness around shapes to blend colors organically or imitate natural lighting falloff.
* Tracking and stabilizing—Fast, accurate tracking to animate shapes and stabilize images.
* Keying—Isolate regions, colors, or brightness using the powerful HLS keyer.
* Pan and scan—For reframing the composition and mastering to different formats.
* Accurate dust removal—Automatic dust removal tools, including use of infrared scan data, let you find and remove dust and scratches fast and with less guesswork.
One-Click Proxy Workflow
The Lustre proxy workflow was designed specifically to improve system performance and reduce intermediate storage requirements and network file transfers by giving you the option of using half-resolution images. Of course, you can also work using full-resolution images. You have the flexibility to choose the workflow that suits your requirements.
Flexible Colorspace
Work in the colorspace you know, with the tools you understand. Lustre supports both log and linear color correction. If you have a background in film, printer lights and log controls will be familiar to you. If you come from the video world, you may prefer to use the linear color correction toolset. It’s your choice—get up and grading quickly.
Powerful Collaborative Workgroups
Collaboration between one or many users is facilitated by the use of integrated notes, as well as the flag system, which enable you to track project progress using cues customized for your facility workflow.
What You See Is What You Get
Lustre Color Management 3D LUTs extend the standardization of color between displays by producing a faithful representation of how images will appear on a very specific medium when viewed on display devices such as a digital projector, CRT, or LCD monitor. For example, you can use a 3D LUT that corresponds to a given film stock, and get an accurate representation of what the images will look like once they are printed out to that film and projected onto a screen.
Autodesk Control Surface
The unique and beautiful modular three-ball Autodesk® Control Surface, which was designed for use by colorists to streamline the grading process, is available as an optional component of any Lustre configuration. The Control Surface gives colorists a highly ergonomic means to access Lustre controls.
